Summer's school's Memorial Day celebration

Summer worked very hard to learn a poem and song for this celebration. She also earned a very special award that day. Only one student from her class was chosen-- it was for exemplary kindness and goodwill towards others throughout the school year. We are so very proud of her!!!

Sunday, our Look Park adventure

On Sunday, we decided to take the kids to the park to fly Summer's kite. It was the perfect day, pretty windy and the temperature was just right. Luckily, the rain didn't hit until after we headed home.
Yes, Clayton wore himself out doing most of the kite work, but he had himself a good time and Summer enjoyed running after him!
Here's Summer giving it a try- -she got it going for a little bit a couple of times.

River checks out the train going around the track nearby.

Sunday, our Look Park adventure

We took a ride on the Look Park Express. River was a bit nervous about it, but then decided to be excited. He definitely liked the train better when he had seen it from afar!

Look Park Zoo

After the train ride, we headed over to the animals at their small zoo. We fed the goats and chickens, heard the turkeys and peacocks calling and saw some owls, hawks, bunnies, and bald eagles. Then, we headed over to the playground to really wear the kids out!
