Another late night bear encounter!

So, last night we had another baby bear on our porch and the following video is much better than the other. I DO have to apologize for some of the language. Gabe's here, what more can I say? Enjoy!

Our late night bear encounter...

So, last night I happened to look out the porch window and saw a baby bear eating sunflower seeds right next to me. I called Clayt over and he and I watched as we discovered a HUGE momma bear under our bird feeders with 4 babies with her! YES, FOUR! They were awesome! You can't see the video very well because of the lighting, but you can definitely make out the one on the porch-- at one point the momma stood on two legs and checked out the seeds on the railing, you can get a glimpse of her brown muzzle, if you look hard. There is also a baby nose that peeks throught the bottom left of the rails. They stuck around for a good 4-5 minutes before taking off. It was so amazingly neat to experience it all. And they were SO close! The momma wasn't more than 8 feet from us, maybe even more like 5. What a great experience. I knew they were around as each morning I found a different one of my 5 bird feeders torn down or smashed. They have been coming to our house every day for the last 4-5 days. I only have 2 feeders left- one of which I just fixed back up for use-- the birds didn't like not having any food available to them. So, now I guess we can add bears to the list of all we've been feeding out there!

Bears! Bears! Bears!

Reunion

Yes, Clayton has reutrned after a month and a half! Both kids didn't let him out of their sight the entire day. And both were VERY demanding of his attention.

Summer's School Halloween Party and Parade

So, Halloween morning, about 1/2 hour before it was time to leave for school, Summer informed me that she DIDN'T want to be Daphne afterall. I told her she was out of luck and struck a deal with her: she would be Daphne for trick-or-treating and we would create an outfit for school. So, she went to school as a pink fairy. She looked adorable and had a great time and ended up (not surprisingly) excited about being Daphne afterall.

This is Summer's table. She sits here with the same kids every day. The little girl in green is Desiree, I hear about her often as she is Summer's current favorite.
